I just received the gorgeous pictures from Carla Ten Eyck of a wedding the studio designed the florals for in September at the Waveny House in New Canaan. This wedding went down as one of my favorites of the season. The golden yellows and soft silvers against all the dark wood in the Waveny House created a glowing effect. This time of year when the crazy wedding season slows down I like to take some time to reflect on the past season. 2010 was the busiest year yet for Blush, lots of hard work went into the season and I was really happy with all the studio accomplished and how much fun we had while doing it! Yesterday the team at Blush floral studio designed a wedding at the Guilford Yacht Club featuring rich shades of purples and chocolate browns. The centerpieces featured different shades of purples including Antiqued Hydrangea, Lisianthus, Calla Lilies, Geranium Leaf and Stock. The Chocolate Brown linens created a rich look perfect for Autumn!

This weekend The White Dress By the Shore is hosting a Melissa Sweet Trunk Show (October 29th-November 1st). I created this bridal bouquet to display in the boutique for the event. It features Ivory Kale, Astilbe, Allium, Wheat and small tufts of fabric. The heads of Kale almost look like Roses--if only it smelled like a Rose instead of Cabbage!!

This past weekend we designed a wedding for a backyard wedding held at a private home in Middle Haddam. The style was an organic rustic look in a variety of sunset shades. We featured Dahlias, Garden Roses, Berries, and lots of interesting foliage. The bride, a trained chef and foodie, also wanted to incorporate Heirloom Tomatoes, artichokes and lemons into the decor. Amazing paper flower lanterns created by the bride and her mother! The bride requested that each table center
