Vintage Blush and White Spring Wedding
Cameron and Josh were married last June at the beautiful Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown. We collaborated with the talented Jubilee Events on the design of this event. This wedding was the perfect combination of vintage charm and elegance. The bride collected over one hundred pieces of milk glass which we filled with spring blooms in shades of white and blush pink. They were scattered throughout the mansion on guests' tables, mantels, placecard tables, and other nooks and cra

True Romance
This picture is my definition of romance more to come from this gorgeous event...

So long Peonies...
It has been a wonderful long season of Peonies, but it has finally come to an end (I'm still trying to squeeze a few stems out of my wholesaler but the bitter end is near) We've had a great season with these beautiful blooms, but one of my last Peony events of the season featured my favorite yet... Can't wait to use them again next Spring!

Milk Glass Wedding at Wadsworth Mansion
This past Saturday we designed a pink and white wedding at Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown. Candice and her talented team at Jubilee Events coordinated the beautiful event. The bride and groom's milk glass collection was filled and scattered throughout the mansion and cocktail area. The stunningly simple cake (one of the prettiest I've seen) was made by Felicia's Sweetface Pastry Shoppe I only had time to snap a few pictures, but will post more of this gorgeous bride and

Pale Pink Wedding at the Tomes Higgins House
I have been excited to design this wedding since last year when the bride showed me her collection of Rose Colored Depression glass that she wanted me to fill with flowers for her wedding centerpieces! This gorgeous wedding was held at the Tomes Higgins House in Greenwich. The wedding was coordinated and styled by the talented Candice and her fabulous crew at Jubilee Events. The color scheme of the wedding was a soft pale antique pink. Along with the bride's beautiful

Cakestand Wedding at the New Haven Lawn Club
Yesterday the studio designed a wedding at the New Haven Lawn Club that was the epitome of pretty. Pale Pinks, Ivories and Peach flowers were arranged on top of the brides' cut glass cake stand collection. Peonies, Garden Roses, Andromeda and other Spring flowers were used to create a romantic feel. The pink cake display table was so much fun--wish I could have tasted a few!! Can't wait to share the professional pics when they are ready, but in the meantime here's a few

Everlasting Parrot Tulip!
The first weekend of April Blush did an event in Hartford and I used a few Parrot Tulips in one of the large arrangements. A few days after the event I went to pick up my urns and pedestals and the arrangement was still there so I picked out the gorgeous Parrot Tulips to try to revive them. They are still living in my sunroom and are the most amazing Tulips I have ever seen, there color has turned from green to purple and now is taking on a shade of Maroon and their pe

White and Black Photoshoot
Today I made a bouquet and boutonniere for a photoshoot with Mike and Marcie Maler of Michael Maler Photography that is taking place tomorrow at a Haunted Opera House in Connecticut. The White and Black themed shoot will feature the 'bride' wearing a fabulous wedding dress with black caged veil. White Ranunculus, Anemone and Parrot Tulips are surrounded by feathery Agonis and Ferns with Black feather accents. Fun way to end the week!

Tulip Season
Although Tulips are not my most requested flower, they really are one of my favorites. I love that they continue to grow even after being cut creating an ever-changing arrangement. And, the fact that they truly look beautiful until the bitter end, I've kept vases of Tulips in my house until it is surrounded by it's own fallen petals. This time of year the tulips are available in the most gorgeous varieties, the Parrot Tulip being my absolute favorite. Here is a gorgeous Parr

2011 Season Sneak Peek!
There is lots and lots of romance incorporated in the upcoming season at Blush! Soft pinks, dusty greens, big lush blooms spilling over vintage vases is the popular style for the upcoming season and we couldn't be more excited! Lush garden style arrangements are some of our favorite types to design! Here are a few photos of a mock-up we designed this past week for one of our early Spring brides... A lush mounded centerpiece of Ranunculus, Peonies, Roses, Garden Roses, Du

Ranunculus
As Spring is getting closer the thought of all the beautiful early Spring flowers filling my studio is making me happy. One of my favorite Spring flowers are Ranunculus. Each petal is so delicate they remind me of the crepe paper flowers I used to make in elementary school. They come in such an array of colors from soft and feminine to bold and bright. Here are a few of my Ranunculus moments... Photo Courtesy of Denise Cregier Photo Courtesy of Carla Ten Eyck Photo Court

Highlights from 2010 Season
This time of year when the crazy wedding season slows down I like to take some time to reflect on the past season. 2010 was the busiest year yet for Blush, lots of hard work went into the season and I was really happy with all the studio accomplished and how much fun we had while doing it! It's nice to look back at all the events months later to reopen my eyes to the styles, colors and flowers of each event all over again. Over the next few posts I will be highlighting some

A look back--May Day Wedding
Now that my wedding season is slowing down I've been taking the time to go through the professional photographs of weddings I've done throughout the season. This wedding is currently being featured on Martha Stewart Weddings site in the Real Weddings section. The Bride and Groom, Allie and Jacob, planned a beautiful blue and white themed Black Tie affair with the help of Cand
