The studio is ready for the holiday season!
Now all we need is a little snow!

Kate Moss Wedding
So many celebrity weddings are over the top glam, but when I saw the pictures from Kate Moss' recent wedding in Vogue I just fell in love with the casual English Countryside elegance, not to mention her adorable bridal party each with their own floral head wreath, so angelic... I love the smaller bridal bouquets that are often seen in European weddings, they're so delicate and feminine, I'm hoping that trend follows to the U.S. ( especially after Princess Kate debuted her s

So long Peonies...
It has been a wonderful long season of Peonies, but it has finally come to an end (I'm still trying to squeeze a few stems out of my wholesaler but the bitter end is near) We've had a great season with these beautiful blooms, but one of my last Peony events of the season featured my favorite yet... Can't wait to use them again next Spring!

The Season of Collections
This Spring has been the season of collections. Brides' have brought me their different collections to be used for or added to their wedding decor. I love the feel it gives to a reception, so unique and interesting and it adds a touch of the couple's personality into the decor. This weekend I will be designing a wedding in my client's gorgeous Milk Glass collection. The Milk Glass will be filled with shades of Soft pinks and Ivories with some fun textural components added in.

New Website!!
We have been working hard with Lindsay Logan of WOMA design to redesign our website and it was just launched today! I couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out!! I hope everyone likes it as much as I do!! Take a peek!

Peony Season has Arrived!
My favorite flower, the Peony, is now in full bloom! I love May and June weddings that are full of romantic Peonies! Here are pictures of a few varieties that I have already used this year... I just can't pick a favorite!

Logo Updated!
The talented Lindsay Logan of Woma Design updated my logo and redesigned my business cards (which arrived in the mail yesterday!) Can't wait for her to update my website, stay tuned!

Midnight snack?!
Just found this random pic in my files...this is what happens when I work on photoshoot flowers late night from my house and I'm too tired to drive to the studio...

Green and White
This week I was asked to create an arrangement for a local garden club event. I was given a earthy looking basket made out of curly willow, I lined it with moss and filled it with all green and white foliage and blooms: Brake Fern, Argonis, Kale, Snapdragons and a few Anemones. Looks like something straight out of the forest!

White and Black Photoshoot
Today I made a bouquet and boutonniere for a photoshoot with Mike and Marcie Maler of Michael Maler Photography that is taking place tomorrow at a Haunted Opera House in Connecticut. The White and Black themed shoot will feature the 'bride' wearing a fabulous wedding dress with black caged veil. White Ranunculus, Anemone and Parrot Tulips are surrounded by feathery Agonis and Ferns with Black feather accents. Fun way to end the week!

The Romantic Garden Rose
Perfectly old fashioned and romantic, the Garden Rose makes any arrangement feel lush and extravagant. Garden Roses have become more and more available in the cut flower market over the past few years. They adorn many of the pages of Martha Stewart Weddings magazine, but they are still an unfamiliar flowers to many of my brides, who have seen and love them but have no idea what they are. Often mistaken for a Peony, they are their perfect replacement when Peonies are not

Tulip Season
Although Tulips are not my most requested flower, they really are one of my favorites. I love that they continue to grow even after being cut creating an ever-changing arrangement. And, the fact that they truly look beautiful until the bitter end, I've kept vases of Tulips in my house until it is surrounded by it's own fallen petals. This time of year the tulips are available in the most gorgeous varieties, the Parrot Tulip being my absolute favorite. Here is a gorgeous Parr

Take your Seat!
Placecard Table displays are usually one of the last details for brides to think about, but it is usually the first thing that your guests see when they arrive at your reception. Having a really stunning or visually interesting display can set the tone for the whole reception. 2011 Season Sneak Peek!
There is lots and lots of romance incorporated in the upcoming season at Blush! Soft pinks, dusty greens, big lush blooms spilling over vintage vases is the popular style for the upcoming season and we couldn't be more excited! Lush garden style arrangements are some of our favorite types to design! Here are a few photos of a mock-up we designed this past week for one of our early Spring brides... A lush mounded centerpiece of Ranunculus, Peonies, Roses, Garden Roses, Du

Ranunculus
As Spring is getting closer the thought of all the beautiful early Spring flowers filling my studio is making me happy. One of my favorite Spring flowers are Ranunculus. Each petal is so delicate they remind me of the crepe paper flowers I used to make in elementary school. They come in such an array of colors from soft and feminine to bold and bright. Here are a few of my Ranunculus moments... Photo Courtesy of Denise Cregier Photo Courtesy of Carla Ten Eyck Photo Court

Highlights from 2010 Season
This time of year when the crazy wedding season slows down I like to take some time to reflect on the past season. 2010 was the busiest year yet for Blush, lots of hard work went into the season and I was really happy with all the studio accomplished and how much fun we had while doing it! It's nice to look back at all the events months later to reopen my eyes to the styles, colors and flowers of each event all over again. Over the next few posts I will be highlighting some
